PRINCETON, N.J. — The Council of Ivy Group Presidents announced today (February 11, 2009) that Robin Harris, Senior Counsel and Co-Chair in the Collegiate Sports Practice at Ice Miller, LLP, will be the new Executive Director of the Council of Ivy Group Presidents, effective July 1, 2009, and as such the chief executive officer of the Ivy League athletics conference. We’ve long known Ivysport.com features the best Dartmouth College apparel available online, but we didn’t know the Dartmouth Coop thought so too!  They’re going out of their way to compliment us this holiday season by advertising online and calling their store “Ivysport.com”.  While we love the flattery, we really wish Dartmouthcoop.com would not mislead consumers.

Dartmouth’s endowment fell 6 percent, or $220 million, in the first quarter of the current fiscal year, which began July 1 and ended Sept. 30, Ed Haldeman ‘70, chairman of the Board of Trustees, said in an interview with The Dartmouth. The Board learned of the drop, which now leaves the endowment at $3.44 billion, during its November meeting last weekend, but the extent of the endowment’s October decline is not yet available, according to College President James Wright. We’re trying to be a little more creative at Ivysport by engaging our customers and visitors with fun promotions.  This month we’re launching on Ivysport a “Free T-Shirt A Day through Labor Day” where each day we’ll randomly select one entrant to receive their Ivy League school t-shirt of choice with complimentary shipping.  Winners will be posted daily here and it’s completely free to register.   Visitors can often once per day for every day of the promotion.  I’m curious to see if there’s a bias toward which school is most represented…will it be Cornell, Harvard, Dartmouth, Yale?  Already today we’ve received nearly 300 entrants!  Good luck to all.
